A Woman I Once Knew

She entered the world and ran into some treacherous, non-God fearing individuals who used lies and manipulation combined with gaslighting and immaturity. These behaviors made her feel trapped! They caused her to live in illusions and brokenness. Her first thought was that this was a level of hell on earth that she had only heard of. She became desperate and full of despair, her mind could not process the thought of leaving because she did not know where to go or how to get there. The fear of taking any leap of faith in another direction consumed her, leaving her bound in her head and daggers in her heart.

I sat down with her for a heart-to-heart. I invited God into the conversation to know why she wanted to stay in such a turbulent relationship. Hearing her truth: She was fearful of the future, she did not believe that her best was coming, she felt that she was not worthy of goodness, she believed her sins led her to this, she made the bed, and she had to now live in it.

Allowing God in the conversation, she understood that God elevated her from sinner to salvation. God sat with her and continued to whisper to her heart and her mind. Filling her with joy, reminding her that she is the head and not the tail! Sitting and hearing from God gave her the strength to keep going! She stepped out of low confidence and low self-worth to a woman of power and expectation!
